It was nice to have a happy mini-family reunion since we vowed not to see one another only at hospitals and funerals. Planning parties is one of my favorite things to do. Because this was a special occasion, I added some bougie touches while keeping it real for my cousins by serving the traditional arroz con pernil, rum, and coconut drinks that sparked a wig-wearing Soul Train dance runway. To personalize things, I customized questions for our truth or dare bachelorette card game and had t-shirts made for pajamas since this party was for the whole weekend. And voilà, the term Boribougie was born. It's my style to bougie up things now and then. We had so much fun, and everyone felt special with the personal touches I found.
I should note that each purse had a gourmet Chubbs brownie along with a cousin-themed key charm as a souvenir of our experience that weekend. Chubb's brownies are delicious, and I do not get a fee for recommending them, but I highly recommend them!
These table-setting items are versatile; they can be used for other holidays, such as Easter, and those shiny napkin holders and candles are perfect for Christmas gatherings, too!
Lest I forget the most popular bougie item, my guests could not stop talking about? The bidets in each bathroom. They’re not just a pandemic must-have anymore. They are for the bougie booty, too! :-)
